Why Farm-Stay Accommodations?
What are "farm-stay" accommodations, why do we offer them, and why should you want to do a farm-stay?
Our accommodations are fundamentally connected to our mission as beginning farmers and ranchers. We
want to know our customers, and for them to know us and our farm. Being a good distance from our primary markets
of Austin and San Antonio, and being located in one of the top tourist locations in Texas, extending our
operations to include farm-stay accommodations just made sense.
Ultimately we plan to have seminars at the farm, ranging from such topics as soap and cheese making, gardening,
raising heritage animals, and other topics. We plan to offer accommodations in connection with these opportunities for growth.
We also recognize that with regard to some of our livestock breeds, we are the only breeders for some distance.
Like our farm customers, we want to be able to offer our livestock customers a place to stay when they come to visit
and transact with us.
But it goes beyond that. We want to offer an alternative to Hill Country tourists who may not even know of our farm --
and create an environment where couples and families alike can be renewed -- in nature, in one another, and in themselves. These are
the reasons that we have decided to offer "farm-stay" accommodations at Agarita Creek Farms, and why we hope that you
