and Education (SARE) program has helped advance farming systems that are profitable, environmentally
sound and good for communities through a nationwide research and education grants program.

economically viable, conserve natural resources and biodiversity, and enhance the quality of life in the state's communities.

The Leopold Center is a research and education center with statewide programs to develop sustainable agricultural
practices that are both profitable and conserve natural resources.
- ATTRA
ATTRA - National Sustainable Agriculture
Information Service is managed by the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) and is funded under a
grant from the United States Department of Agriculture's Rural Business-Cooperative Service. It provides information
and other technical assistance to farmers, ranchers, Extension agents, educators, and others involved in sustainable
agriculture in the United States. (ATTRA was formerly known as the "Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas"
project.)
- Slow Food USA
Slow Food is an idea,
a way of living and a way of eating. It is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the
world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.
- Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners
TOFGA stands for "Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association". It is a state-wide organization of about
600 members. It was established in 1992 as a 501(c)(3) corporation with the original name of "Texas Organic Growers
Association".

- Permaculture Institute
Located near Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Permaculture Institute was founded in 1997 as the sister organization to
the Permaculture Institute of Australia. It came on the footsteps of the Permaculture Drylands Institute, formerly
the leading permaculture educational institution in the US. Our mission is to promote sustainable living skills through
education, networking and demonstration projects.
