Staying at Agarita Creek

There are two German chink-style log cabins, the Braeutigam Cabin and the Behrends Cabin. Each is two stories, and features log walls, stained concrete floors, Talavera tile from Mexico, and rustic pine furniture. Each cabin has a living room and a full kitchen with full-sized appliances, stocked with dishes, cookware, and myriad of kitchen accessories. Each cabin has a television for watching movies only; the televisions are not hooked up to any provider. Movies, books, and games are included in each cabin, as are all towels and linens. There is no internet service to the cabins. Cell phones work.  All beds are queen sized beds. Each cabin features a large porch with a view and an outdoor common area with a picnic table and a fire pit. Outdoor grills are close at hand.

The Braeutigam cabin is a two bedroom/two bath cabin with a large luxurious master suite downstairs, featuring a garden tub and a separate shower, with a second ample bed and full bath upstairs. In the living room there is a queen sized convertible sleeper sofa for additional guests. With the use of the sleeper sofa, the Braeutigam cabin can sleep six people.

The Behrends cabin has two sleeping areas (a downstairs master and an upstairs sleeping loft), a full bath downstairs, and a limestone fireplace in the living room (gas). The Behrends cabin sleeps four.

In addition to the two cabins, there is a private hotel style suite just a short walk from the cabins at the main house and office. The suite has its own private entrance and shares the common dogtrot with the main house. The suite can be reserved for overflow guests associated with any cabin rental on an as available basis by emailing us.

POLICIES

  • Visa/Mastercard, Discover, and American Express accepted
  • A deposit of the first night’s rate will be charged at the time of reservation. The cost of the remainder of your stay may be billed seven days prior to your stay. Cancellations within seven days of your stay may result in a loss of all monies charged. Generally, in exigent circumstances, charges may be applied to a future reservation if that reservation is made at the time of a cancellation.
  • There is a two-night minimum stay at the published rates. One night reservations are honored on a case-by-case basis only. When checking availability for a stay on less than one day’s notice, please call us at (830) 992-5283.
  • Children are welcome, even encouraged. Parents are simply requested to consider the desires for privacy and quiet of guests without children.
  • Sorry we do not allow pets.
  • There is no smoking indoors; please confine smoking to outside porches or common areas.
  • Please do not litter. We want to preserve the natural beauty of the ranch for future guests.
  • The use of firearms is permitted only for those who have arranged for the hunting use of the ranch at the time of making their reservation. Note that there is no hunting on property when lodging guests are present. For inquiries please call us at (830) 992-5283. Agarita Creek is not responsible for accidents and injuries associated with the use of firearms on the ranch property.
  • Please confine all vehicular use to the main road between entrance and cabins.
  • Violation of the above policies are taken seriously, and may result in the termination of your stay.

DO

  • Bring closed shoes or boots and long pants for all guests. Boots and long pants are encouraged when roaming our property.
  • Always look down when walking. Snakes are rare on the ranch, but there is always the possibility of a snake in the grass or a stinging weed.
  • Participate in ranch activities if you desire to do so. Just let us know that you are interested.
  • Pay attention to the maps and directions provided in our website and check in letter. Google and most navigations systems will now get you to our property but you will need additional information about our automatic gate and how to locate your cabin on the property.
  • Plan to arrive for the first time during daylight hours. While the ranch is near Fredericksburg, and you can see it from here, the opposite is not true. Deer are also abundant. Arriving at night could mean you get lost, or find a deer. Plus, you will want to see the sunset from your front porch!
  • Build a campfire if you wish, or grill outside (absent a burn ban). Please confine all fires to the fire pits and grills. Smoky the Bear is correct; only you can prevent a disastrous fire.
  • Enjoy yourself, and do not be afraid to ask questions. We live here, love it here, and want you to have a great stay.

DON’T

  • Do the opposite of the “do’s.” As they used to say on Romper Room, “do be a do bee; don’t be a don’t bee.”
